Photovoltaic industry

In the solar industry, FFKM perfluorinated rubber is mainly used as seals and gaskets for photovoltaic (PV) modules and concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) systems. They are used to form a tight seal around the edge of the solar panel to prevent moisture and other contaminants from entering the module and damaging sensitive electronics inside. FFKM resists a variety of chemical reactions, including strong acids, bases and solvents. It exhibits excellent thermal stability and has excellent (low) compressive permanent deformation properties. Continuous operating temperature can be up to 300°C or more.
